The park

The Location of Barmoor Country Park, a caravan and chalet park.
Situated in the heart of North Northumberland, halfway between the magnificent Cheviot range of hills and the beautiful golden beaches of the coast, Barmoor is ideally placed for those wishing to explore the hidden beauty of the area.

History is all around the park. The villages of Ford and Etal give a clue to the area's turbulent past (outside of the park's history of course!). Ford, with its own castle, is an interesting village and home to the Lady Waterford gallery set among a collection of distinctive architecture. From Ford, it’s only a short drive to Etal and the Heatherslaw Light Railway and then on to the Cheviots – a walker’s paradise. Most walkers choose to set out from the village of Wooler before taking to the hills for the day. There are walks to suit all abilities and you’ll be sure to take in some incredible vistas.

The Special Conservation Site Ford Moss is nearby. One of Northumberland’s most important raised mires enjoy wildlife and nature at its best in this special reserve.

For those who love dramatic seascapes, the region is one of the best in Britain. Coupled with the world famous tidal Holy Island of Lindisfarne, the coastline spanning this part of the world is studded with an abundance of castles and islands.

Barmoor's location means that whatever your interests, there is something not too far away!
